Detects passenger seat occupancy and weight to determine airbag deployment.

The occupant classification sensor, built into the front passenger seat, estimates the size and weight of whoever is seated there so the SRS module can decide whether to deploy the passenger airbag and at what force. A faulty sensor can disable the passenger airbag or misjudge a child seat.
